Gamma lead Over Generation for the opening segment. He talked about the rush of homecoming shows that we are in the middle of. Kanda yesterday, Saito & YAMATO this weekend. Right in the middle, here we are in Korakuen. He saw no reason to not make this a homecoming for Ikebukuros’ own Punch Tominaga. Well, now that he is bald it would be better to call him The Former Punch Tominaga. Gamma suddenly felt left out so he noted his sister lives in Mejiro. So this was also now his home away from homecoming. First Gong Kids was 10 year old Eita, whose favorite wrestler was Eita.
Ring Announcer Kikuchi introduced the class of 2016. They formally introduced themselves to the crowd with new characters.
Yuki Yoshioka went first. He only recently debuted, but his goal was no less than becoming the best wrestler in Dragon Gate.
Katsumi Takashima said he received his official debut date, and he will do his best to show off his abilities.
Shun Watanabe has become the masked fighter Shun Skywalker. He is going to spread his wings and fly high over the Dragon Gate ring.
Futa Nakamura is now Ben-K. The name is a play on the Japanese word 弁慶(benkei), which means powerful person. His unbelievable power will help him reign supreme.
Hyou Watanabe decided to keep with his name. Hyou also means leopard in Japanese, so he adopted leopard print ring gear. He is the smallest of the new class. But he knows he is the best. He will move like a leopard and promised to become Brave Gate champion.
GM Yagi said that these 5 fighters would be at the top in the near future. He hoped fans would support them, but also judge them harshly when they fail. Since they were out here, they would be put into matches now. Hyou wants to be Brave Gate champion? Fine. He can test himself against the current champion. His match was with Eita.
Eita congratulated him on his coming out party. Dragon Gate was a rough place. The most important thing was not to lose confidence. He hoped he would achieve his goal of Brave Gate champion, but that wasn’t going to happen today because Eita remains the measuring stick.
Mondai Ryu ran wild after the 4th match. He attacked everyone and demanded a match. CIMA came out and destroyed him in 29 seconds.
CIMA imparted some advice onto the 5 rookies. Today, a new chapter of Dragon Gate begins. Today, they are in Korakuen Hall. Korakuen Hall is a special place. Matches in Korakuen Hall have a special kind of pressure. If you mess up here, you don’t get a second chance. 20 years ago, CIMA was in their position. A rookie with aspirations of being the best. Welcome to Dragon Gate. The current generation, the next generation, the old generations, and now their generation. They all have doors to open. He offered a handshake to Hyou but he slapped his hand away. They backed CIMA to the ropes. CIMA attempt to remain defiant while clearly terrified. He challenged them to a 10 man tag next month in Korakuen Hall against himself, Mochizuki, Gamma, DK, & Fujii.
Only YAMATO, Hulk, & Dragon Kid were introduced. Doi said there was one other who was in the same situation as him. He called Kotoka to the ring.
Doi rejected the results. This was just a battle. The war was far from over. He tried to rally Kotoka and demanded he strike back against Verserk. Kotoka said he came back to wrestling with one goal. To destroy Verserk.
Takagi shrugged it off. Big words from two losers. Anyone who was watching saw it was just another easy win for Verserk. El Lindaman was a massive upgrade over Kotoka and everyone knows it. If Kotoka & Doi still want a fight, they can have it any time.
GM Yagi set up a singles match between Lindaman & Kotoka for next month, but T-Hawk demanded that he also be involved. Doi can join in to make it a tag. But with Kotoka involved that wouldn’t be much fun so maybe they should make it a 3 on 3. Doi brought up that he and Kotoka were unaffiliated so finding a third may be difficult.
SPEED STAR hit, bringing out Yoshino to raucous cheers. If they needed a 3rd, they needn’t look further. But, make no mistake. He wasn’t out here to form a team with Doi or Kotoka. He was out here to help bring an end to Verserk. They needed a partner, so he would join for that purpose. The match was set. Yoshino, Doi, Kotoka vs. Takagi, T-Hawk, & Lindaman.
T-Hawk lamented that the friendship club bullshit was now extending to the unaffiliated ranks. The result will always be the same no matter who the opponent is. A Verserk win.
Yoshino reiterated what he said. He wasn’t out here to make any teams. He knows what kind of person Doi is, and he wants no part of it.He is unaffiliated and is doing what he needs to do to get back at Verserk. That is why he is doing this. Nothing less. Don’t forget it.
Kotoka said that he was also solely focused on revenge, especially on T-Hawk & Lindaman. He isn’t thinking about anything else. But…next month they should try and get along.
Doi was left in the ring to a large ovation. He called out YAMATO. He was going to just come out and say it. He wants a title match. 6 years ago, YAMATO ended his only title reign. Since then, he has been Mr. Twin Gate but has never again been Dream Gate champion. Now was the perfect time to end that. Seeing as how…..he just got married and all. But don’t think he has changed. He is Naruki Doi – Rampaging Muscle. There is no rule that the door to dreams can only be opened once. Accept the challenge.
YAMATO said he hasn’t forgotten his anger towards Doi from when he helped kick him out of Verserk. 6 years ago, Doi accepted the Dream Gate challenge from YAMATO when he was still a young kid. The situation was reversed now, so he would return that favor. He accepted the challenge. Also, wasn’t it getting a bit cold out?
Doi was confused. YAMATO noted it is almost December. There are two Korakuen Hall shows left. Doi was still lost.
December! Korakuen! Naruki Doi!
December! Korakuen! Naruki Doi!
YAMATO said that Doi knew what he meant, and the fans were waiting for it. Doi was irritated that the Dream Gate talk had ended so abruptly, but he got an answer so he would let it go for now. Fine. It was tradition, after all. At the 12/01 Korakuen he would bring Doi Darts, to set the main even for the final Korakuen Hall of the year.
