Kzy celebrated. The engines were turned on, and there would be no stopping Tribe Vanguard this year.

Eita ripped on Tominaga. What was his problem? The first Korakuen Hall of the year and he is slacking off? They would have been better off with Ishida, even with the injury.

This was the fourth straight loss for Hulk. YAMATO wondered what was going on. He just wasn’t feeling it anymore? Kzy saw it too. This was going to be a tough year for everyone in Tribe Vanguard. If Hulk isn’t running with them at full speed, everyone will feel it. No one wants to see Hulk like this. He asked YAMATO what they should do. Hulk said YAMATO was right. He’s 0-4 so far this year. YAMATO was Dream Gate champion, Kzy & Maria were going after the Twin Gate, Flamita was doing his thing in Mexico. He is just holding them back right now. He was frustrated, and had no idea what to do.
YAMATO had an idea. Pro wrestlers need a goal. If they have a goal, they can fight through the tough times, the frustrating times. Hulk hasn’t had a goal since he returned from his injury. This is the real BxB Hulk. The real BxB Hulk is one of the faces of the company. If he needs a goal, YAMATO has one for him. The Open the Dream Gate championship. He challenged Hulk to come after it. They agreed to a title match for the 2/2 Korakuen Hall show.

T-Hawk celebrated the totally clean and fair win over the Triangle Gate champion team. He called out the Yoshino team. Was Yoshino really sure he wanted to fight with these two? Ben-K was powerful but had nothing else going for him. As for Kotoka…seriously? He’s going to try and challenge with these clowns?
Yoshino ripped on T-Hawks’ promo skills. To answer his question, yes he was serious. Was he watching the first round? Ben-K scored the win. Kotoka pinned BxB Hulk in the semifinal. They were going to beat Verserk in the finals.

Verserk attacked Yoshino after the main event until Dr. Muscle made the save. He unmasked to reveal Naruki Doi. He & Yoshino shared a firm handshake. He was here to save the day. Together with Yoshino, Kotoka, & Ben-K, they stood up to Verserk. T-Hawk panicked and demanded they back off. What was Doi doing on here? His team lost in the first round. He should have gotten changed and headed home already. What was up with this cosplay crap? Both sides agreed to face off in an 8 man tag match at the 2/2 Korakuen.
Takagi was disgusted by this turn of events. Doi & Yoshino teaming again? Friendship club horseshit. No one wants to see these guys as a team. Whatever. With that loser Kotoka and that greenhorn Ben-K on the team they would go down easy.

Doi & Yoshino closed the show with some banter.

El Lindaman taunted the Osaka fans, along with the so-called “strongest middleweight champion” Eita. Give the guy who got pinned today a hand. Last year, he challenged for the Brave Gate and lost. But he only lost due to outside interference. He’s beaten Eita twice in recent times, so that qualifies him for another shot. He wants it right here in Osaka in March, so he can throw it back in the faces of these idiot fans that made a fool of him last year. They will have to give him the respect he is due when he becomes Brave Gate champion. Eita admitted that there was interference in their last match. But a win is a win. He can have a rematch, but he isn’t going to win. Eita won’t lose to the likes of him. Linda has 2 wins on him, there will not be a third. Linda can train all he wants. Eita will win. Don’t take your eyes off him.

Mochizuki told Kotoka & Ben-K that even though they have been coming together as a team, this kind of effort won’t bring them any success in Dragon Gate. Ben-K has huge potential, but it can be wasted if he doesn’t have the right person leading him. He urged him to think about that. As for Kotoka; he has been given some leeway by the fans since his return from injury. If you don’t wrestle, you don’t get paid. So he probably has no savings left. He will have to fight and claw to survive. If they need guidance from Mochizuki & Fujii, they will be there. Ben-K thanked them, and promised to take this advice to heart. He & Kotoka will do their best to win. Because he is Ben-K!

Maria & Kzy celebrated. Maria had something to say to CIMA. When Kzy beat him yesterday, CIMA refused to give him a Twin Gate match. Today, Maria pinned DK. He can’t refuse now. Kzy was in on the idea. Tribe Vanguard would be going on the offensive this year.
CIMA said Tribe Vanguard has already ruined 2017 for Over Generation. This wasn’t going to be their year. CK-1 would put a stop to that. Then Over Generation would throw all their support behind Gamma as he goes for the Dream Gate….

YAMATO wondered what was going on with Hulk. Two matches, two losses. If Tribe Vanguard is going to succeed as a unit, they need Hulk playing a lead role. Maria & Kzy are doing their part in going for the Twin Gate. He knows Hulk is capable of more. He wondered if Hulk was fighting with any sort of purpose since he came back. He figures Hulk needs something to light a fire under him. YAMATO needs to take some time to think about what that might be. He left alone.
Doi was a little more cordial. You win some, you lose some. Good times, bad times, etc. YAMATO was sure being a prick about things. Leaving Hulk out here like this, that is taking it a bit far. It’s ok though. He would gladly walk Hulk out. They left together.

Yoshino & the Jimmyz shared some banter to close the show. Yoshino considered becoming Jimmy Masato and joining them. Kagetora suggested Masato Jimino. Susumu offered Jimmito Yoshino. Both those were rejected. Saito came up with Jimmito Jimino. Kanda recalled he was once YOSSINO, so maybe he could be JIMMINO. Eventually they decided that the whole thing was a bad idea, so he won’t be joining them.

5. Dragon Kid{W}, Gamma (14:23 Bible) YAMATO, BxB Hulk
6. Shingo Takagi, T-Hawk, Cyber Kong{W} (18:37 Cyber Bomb) Masato Yoshino, Kotoka, Ben-K

Kzy celebrated his big win over CIMA. CIMA said even he is not Stalker Ichikawa, he wanted a restart. He eventually gave in and admitted defeat. Kzy deserved a New Year’s gift for his win. He could have anything he wanted. Anything? In that case, he wanted a Twin Gate title match. CIMA told him not to get carried away. How about the Brave Gate? CIMA didn’t have the authority to do that. That was Eitas’ business. CIMA told him to think about it until the next show in Kyoto.
Scoring such an important win on the first show of the year was going to set the tone for Kzy. He promised big things from both himself and Tribe Vanguard in 2017.

Verserk jumped Doi during his match, and left him laying. CIMA, DK, & Gamma attempted to make the save but were held off. While Verserk was distracted with them, Metal Warrior & Dr. Muscle came out and carried him backstage.

Shimizu berated Ishida & Yamamura for their recent slump. Dragon Gate was counting on them to carry it into the future. They can’t even carry themselves. Mochizuki was a little more lenient. He was impressed by how they fought against himself & Fujii. He expected blood, sweat, & tears from them this year. Shimizu quickly apologized to them and told them to try hard. Eita also told them to get their shit together. Kzy came out while this was going on. He still wanted a Brave Gate title match and was here to inform Eita.
El Lindaman came out of nowhere and delivered a German Suplex to Kzy. A new year, but the same Kzy. No one wanted to hear his incessant chatter. This microphone belonged to El Lindaman! He also reminded Eita that it was only a matter of time before the Brave Gate belt was around his waist.

YAMATO wrote off the Hulk loss as him still being hungover from the various New Year festivities. Tribe Vanguard would break their slump and live up to their name in 2017.

Cyber ran down the Kyoto locals as redneck idiots. This year will be just like last year. Verserk and the Muscle Beast Cyber Kong will rule. Takagi dismissed Yoshino & co as jobbers. Ben-K? What a joke. Verserk are the supreme unit. Verserk left.

Yoshino lamented his first promo of 2017 being under such poor circumstances.
Kotoka was still reeling from all that happened in 2016. He wasn’t going to give up on his quest to demolish Verserk. While everyone else was enjoying the time off, he was training and thinking about revenge. The losing ends today. He asked Yoshino to continue fighting with him. Yoshino said that if it was this fired up version of Kotoka, then he would be happy to. He also made a promise to Ben-K to take him under his wing. Together they would sprint into 2017.

T-Hawk berated Yamamura & Ishida. Were they even watching the prior match? How could they come out and be so pitiful after the performance Ben-K, Hyou, & Yoshioka put on? They were 100 times better. Yamamura & Ishida are failures. Trash wrestlers who should give up. Furthermore, in 2017 Verserk will paint the Dragon Gate ring red.

Linda told Eita that their issues didn`t end with their Brave Gate match. He should watch his back in 2017, because he was still gunning for him. He reiterated his stance towards the fans. They rejected him when it was time for him to be voted into Tribe Vanguard, so he rejected them.

Kzy celebrated scoring the final fall of 2016. He admitted that both he didn`t have much success this year. He wondered how useful he was to his teammates. But he is going to change that. He`s training hard, and wants to prove what he is capable of.
YAMATO said that aside from the Dream Gate, Tribe didn`t win any championships. He feels that will change in 2017, and Kzy will be the key player in both the unit and the company as a whole.

The roster was called to the ring to give a closing statement to the Kobe fans.

Ichikawa hoped to compete in Sambo Hall more frequently in 2017.

Shachi said he had a bad year in 2016, but his voice would be heard in 2017.

Ben-K would trample anything in his path, because is Ben-K.

Maria want to ensure everyone had a lovely new year, so she lead a 3-2-1-Lovely! chant.

Hulk talked about returning from his shoulder injury. He wasn`t 100% when he returned, but he is now. He would be back to form in 2017.

Yoshioka was happy to have made his debut this year, but won`t be satisfied until he picks up a direct win.

Shun promised to soar high in 2017.

Kzy thanked Kobe for another great year. Next year will also be a great time. KZ Time.

Doi noted that he was on all 180 main roster shows this year. He failed in his Dream Gate bid, but he would go on another rampage in 2017.

Gamma thanked everyone for 2016, and would continue to make a fun environment for the fans in 2017. Uuuuuuu!!

Punch said he would try and do better next year.

Eita told fans not to take their eyes off him in 2017.

DK said there were a lot of fun matches, but also a lot of tough matches this year. 2017 would be just as exciting.

Ishida admitted that he has been getting his ass kicked recently. However, he won`t stop until he reached the top.

Kanda thanked everyone for cheering him in 2016.

Saito talked about Horiguchi and his injury that lead to the Jimmyz forfeiting the Triangle Gate. They were able to get the titles back, though. When Horiguchi returns the Jimmyz will be able to entertain at their best.

Mochizuki said he would be 47 years old next month. He still feels like he can do anything, and will fight hard next year.

K-ness will continue to do his best as he begins his 21st year in wrestling.

Kagetora vowed to be grateful every day for he gets to compete in 2017.

Susumu won the Dream, Twin, and Triangle Gate titles in 2016. It will go down as one of his most memorable years. The Jimmyz will do their best in 2017, too.

Hyou promised to stand out in 2017.

Kotoka had a really shitty year. Lost his hair for an entire year. His face was smashed. He will put it behind him as he dashes forward into 2017. Vehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Yamamura, as Ishida also said, has been getting his ass beat rather soundly recently. That would end in 2017.

Shimizu took being the final loser of 2016 in stride. He would become the biggest winner in 2017.

Fujii thanked everyone for their support.

Yoshino ended the year with a kiss from Maria. A lot happened this year, but he won`t slow down in 2017.

CIMA thanked the hometown faithful for coming out in larger numbers than ever. Fukuoka, Tokyo, & Nagoya have been sold out on a consistent basis. He wants to continue to have matches that create a fun and exciting atmosphere for those fans. In 2017 the staff, roster, and supporters would all work together to continue that ideal.

YAMATO thanked everyone for 2016, and told them to look forward to 2017.

*2nd Defense

YAMATO & Doi had their face to face interview after the second match. Doi was going to be a worthy challenger, and take it to the champion with everything he had. He give himself the greatest Christmas present of all. The Dream Gate title belt. YAMATO simply refused to lose in his final defense of 2016. There is a long history between the two of them. After going head to head, the final chapter would say that YAMATO was the better man.

The Jimmyz invited Horiguchi into the ring to join the championship celebration. Even though he wasn’t fighting with them, his spirit was. This makes him a part of the championship team.

CIMA was busted wide open by a Verserk box attack. He apologized afterwards. His keynote colour is usually blue, but today was is deep red. He mused that may mean he is in fact Santa Claus. Hopefully he brought happiness to all the kids watching today.

YAMATO thanked Doi for today. When the year started, together they were the greatest tag team the Twin Gate division had ever seen. Then, Doi conspired to kick him out of Verserk. He hasn’t quite forgiven him for his actions. But he owes a lot of his growth as a competitor to their time as a tag team. It is also because of that twist of fate that he stands here today as Dream Gate champion. Sometimes the best way for wrestlers to understand their rivals is to fight them. While he hasn’t forgiven him, after today he is willing to let it be in the past. The longest reigning Twin Gate champions of all time should end 2016 with a hand shake. Shake hands. Hand shake. Shake hands.
Doi refused. He stumbled down the ramp to the entrance gate, where he was assisted by two mysterious, shrouded figures.

YAMATO was baffled and continued to request handshakes. Eventually he refocused and gave his closing speech. He was going to continue to carry both the title and the company into 2017 and beyond. He only had one thing left to say. In 2016 wasn’t he…no, wasn’t Dragon Gate just the coolest?

After picking up the win in the opener, Shimizu said the man who would take over the leading role in Dragon Gate in 2016 was Big! R! Shimizu!. Mochizuki noted that 2016 only had 11 days left. Shimizu revised his statement to the man who would take over the leading role in Dragon Gate in 2017 would would be Big! R! Shimizu!

Kong ran down Kotoka for generally being pathetic. Did he really think he was going to get payback on Verserk? What a joke. There were more important topics at hand. Word is, Horiguchi had his ribs broken by that meathead Ben-K, and would have to miss the rest of the year. What would that mean for the upcoming Triangle Gate title match in Fukuoka? He called out the Jimmyz and demanded answers. One of their team was in a hospital bed. Were they planning on entering the title match with just two members? Obviously not, so they should vacate the titles. Saito wasn’t pleased with the turn of events, but admitted that vacating the titles was their only option. Kong was pleased, since this clearly meant the title match would change from a 3 way to a regular match between Verserk and the Yoshino team. Saito said not so fast. Horiguchi was out, but when one Jimmyz goes down, another will always cover for them. Susumu volunteered to wrestle twice. This was agreed to by all sides, and the match was officially changed to a match to decide the 57th champion team.

Saito said that it wasn’t divine intervention, but the spirit of Horiguchi that carried the Jimmyz to victory in the fourth match. He had some words for Ben-K. He is the one that injured Horiguchi. His bear hug broke three of his ribs. That can’t go unpunished. Furthermore, they can’t let such a greenhorn walk away with the Triangle Gate title belts. Ben-K provoked the Jimmyz in return. Yoshino warned him to not focus just on the Jimmyz. There was also a Verserk team in there. As for Horiguchi, the Jimmyz now have a very real image of what Ben-K is capable of.

Doi was flabbergasted at the result of the main event. What the hell was YAMATO doing? How could he lose here? They had a title match on Sunday, and he was losing to…Susumu? He also raged at Susumu for winning. If anyone was going to pin YAMATO today it was him. Susumu was a nuisance! Whatever. Sunday would be 1 on 1. No one can get in his way. He will win and become Dragon Gates’ leading man. YAMATO said that yes indeed, it would be 1 on 1. If there was no one there to break it up, Doi would have been pinned today by the Frankensteiner of the Almighty. Expect the same result in Fukuoka. As for Susumu, he would get pay back after Doi is out of the way. Susumu said they were being petty. Yeah, the Dream Gate was important, but it wasn’t the only thing. Everything that happens is important. He was still rattled from the match, so he cut his speech short, only warning them that they will soon see what the Jimmyz stand for.

YAMATO apologized for losing in this sort of match, but asked the fans to still indulge him and let him close the show. He invited the entire roster to the ring to say a few things to the Tokyo fans.

Hyou thanked everyone for this year, and hoped to be on every Korakuen Hall show in 2017. He promised to show was he was capable of in each appearance.
Punch said his hair was growing back at a satisfactory pace and he would soon be 100% Punch Tominaga again.
Kzy spit a rhyme, because it was always K-Z-Time!
Hulk failed at rapping. He was able to successfully come back from his shoulder injury, and in 2017 he would kick things into high gear.
Shun said he would fly high in 2017.
Ben-K would force his way in 2017, because he is Ben-K!
Kotoka said Vehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Stalker said Wehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Fujii said thank you for the support in 2016.
Gamma thanked everyone for supporting him as he passed 20 years as a wrestler. He would continue to keep things exciting in Dragon Gate. Uuuu!
Eita said not to take your eyes off him in 2017.
DK said in 2017 would once again be an exciting year.
Ishida asked the fans to support both DG and OG in 2017.
Yoshioka said that even though his team won today, he contributed very little to that win. He would work hard to pick up his own victories in 2017.
Yoshino talked about his 2016 hairstyle troubles. He hopes to have a good haircut in 2017.
Mochizuki said that there was a pretty good chance all Korakuen Hall shows would also sell out in 2017, so he encouraged fans to reserve their seats early.
Doi was really irritated at the idea of reflecting on 2016. He has a title match on Sunday but otherwise nothing but bad things happened to him. He got kicked out of Verserk! Well. One good thing happened. He got married! He would return in 2017 as Mr. Dream Gate!
Yamamura had no excuses for losing to Ben-K today. He wants to make a splash next year.
Shachi is ending the year without a unit, but he will continue to talk with a loud voice.
K-ness, like Gamma, is ending his 20th year as a wrestler. He asked the fans to support him and the Jimmyz in year 21.
Kanda said he hopes to once again have his spot hit during Doi Darts next year.
Saito talked to Horiguchi on the phone, who asked him to relay words of gratitude for this year.
Susumu had a successful year. He was Dream Gate & Twin Gate champion. He hopes to win the Triangle Gate on Sunday. He also picked up the win in the final Korakuen Hall match of 2016.
Kagetora said all he was able to accomplish this year was thanks to the fans.
Shimizu reiterated that the star of 2017 will be Big! R! Shimizu!
Maria lead a 3-2-1 Lovely! chant.
CIMA joined the wrestling business at 19, and recently turned 39. He wants to continue to create a fun and comfortable environment for fans to enjoy Dragon Gate in 2017. He hopes to see more smiling fans in the stands when they return to Tokyo on January 18.
YAMATO closed the show, despite being the loser of the main event. He promised to survive Final Gate and return to Tokyo as champion. He thanked everyone for 2016, and hoped to see them all in 2017.

Mochizuki had some harsh words for Yamamura. It has been a year since he debuted, and he has been afforded a lot of privledges as a member of Over Generation. He is yet to see real punishment, and is yet to see what hell is like. They will be doing this match again at Final Gate. Yamamura will see hell and punishment there. If he has another showing like today, he may as well retire.

Doi celebrated his win, and warned YAMATO that there was only one week left before their showdown. YAMATO is so confident that he will go into 2017 as champion. He is in for a wake up call. He is the one that will ring in the new year as champion, and he is the one that will be the center of Dragon Gate in 2017. He knows he is better than YAMATO in every way, and will prove it in Fukuoka.
YAMATO accepted the loss today, but told Doi that he wasn’t capable of more than fluke wins like today. Don’t think that he will be able to pull it off again in Fukuoka. When Dragon Gate returns to Nagoya next year, the title belt will still be around his waist.

Kotoka said with Lindaman today and Mondai Ryu the other day, he will be targeting Cyber Kong next. Specifically, in the upcoming Triangle Gate match, he fully intends on pinning Kong. He wasn’t nearly finished with his revenge on Verserk.
Kong said just thinking about losing to such a little shit made him embarrassed. Fans began to boo and called for Verserk to leave at this point. Kong told them all to shut up. In Fukuoka, Verserk would walk away as Triangle Gate champions.
Takagi turned his attention to another little shit. A little green shit. Dragon Kid. Enjoy the win today all you want, the momentum begins and ends here. Verserk weren’t going to head into 2017 without any championships. It was a foregone conclusion that Verserk will be taking the Twin Gate, the only question left is what finisher they will use.
Eita asked for some time. This wasn’t related to the Twin Gate or Triangle Gate, but he is Brave Gate champion. He talked up his match with Kagetora, and vowed to win.

Over Generation shared some banter before Dragon Kid closed out the show.

YAMATO & Doi had another confrontation after the main event. YAMATO said that he needed the Dream Gate title to continue his task of guiding Dragon Gate into the future. He is not planning on losing it any time soon. Doi was unmoved by his big talk. He would be the winner on 12/25. Sendai is a second home for YAMATO, so even though Doi thinks he is kind of a dick, he was going to let him have the spotlight today. Just know that next time they are in Sendai, Doi will be the one carrying the title.

YAMATO addressed the fans. He thanked Yoshino for joining up with Tribe for the main event after Maria had to cancel at the last minute due to injury. He asked Yoshino to talk about his best memory of Sendai. Yoshino didn`t have any. He tried to lie and say it is where his parents were from but no one bought it. He was expecting to only be in the third match so to get to team with Tribe Vanguard and win in the main event is now his best memory of Sendai.
YAMATO had an announcement regarding the future of Dragon Gate that he wanted to make to the Sendai fans. It has been a dream of his to hold a large scale show in Sendai. On September 7, 2017 that dream will come true when Dragon Gate hold their first ever big show in the Tohoku region of Japan. The event will be held at the Sendai Sunplaza. Because they are a Kansai region based company, holding a big show in the north is no small feat. He doesn’t want it to be a one year thing. He hopes to do it every year. Because of this, he asked everyone here today to bring a friend. Bring their family. Even if they have no interest in pro wrestling, or wonder why anyone would even like pro wrestling. Dragon Gate is for everyone.
Hulk & Kzy had very successful homecoming shows in Sapporo over the weekend. So successful that next year in May, instead of the traditional double shot they will be doing three consecutive shows. He hopes Sendai can have greater success. He thanked the fans for coming out today, despite how windy it was.
