Mochizuki talked about losing the Dream Gate to Yoshino and how it has left him with pretty much nothing. He’s not in a unit, but none of the existing ones are a good fit. Even though he said that he will still want to fight for the Dream Gate in his 50s and 60s, he probably won’t get another chance for some time. He wants to use that time to train the new generation. That brings him to Shun Skywalker. He’s become a standout player this year. In August, they will be teaming together in the All Japan Pro Wrestling Junior Tag League. He’d like to team with him not just for that, but here in Dragon Gate with the eventual goal of the Twin Gate. If Shun is up for the challenge. He is a tough teacher and partner and won’t take it easy on him. Shun wanted to fight alongside him. As for this All Japan tag league, he isn’t just going for the experience. He’s planning to Skywalk all the way to winning the whole thing. Mochizuki was mainly amused at his confidence. They are very different, but he feels they compliment each other well and can accomplish big things.

Over Generation and Antias got involved in the third match and forced the no contest. Eita blamed it on them. DK pointed out that Antias interfered first and Kaito was just evening the odds. Eita had no recollection of the event in question. Maybe he interfered, once. Ishida interfered twice, though! DK had no interest in arguing with a toddler. He told Eita that he would take him out before they even get to the Brave Gate match.

Rookie(?) Ryo Saito celebrated his first(??) win in Kyoto. This was an important match on the way to the Triangular Door Waist Strap (Triangle Gate title) match. Today he downed a member of the champion team with his brand new original finisher, the Backslide! Horiguchi was furious. Saito said his Backslide wasn’t quite perfected yet but it will be in time for the title match. He vowed to defeat Mr. Susumu, Mr. Horiguchi, and Mr. Sawada and win the championships. Mr. Sawada was totally confused at the state of things. He understands that Saito & Fujii aren’t a combo to be taken lightly. However, Natural Vibes are the champions and they won’t go down so easily.

Yoshiaki Fujiwara, Tatsumi Fujinami, and his son Leona were announced for Kobe Pro Wrestling Festival.

DK told Eita that even though it was a count out win, it was still a win. Antias got a taste of their own medicine today. Eita was furious. Whatever. This match in front of these hicks means absolutely nothing. Next time they are here he will be Brave Gate champion and Shingo will be Dream Gate champion. Even better than that is, Over Generation won’t be back here at all. They will be put out of their misery in Korakuen Hall on 7/5. It will be the end of that stupid Gong Kids nonsense, too. DK told him he was talking a lot of trash for someone who lost today. Antias were going to be disbanded, then Eita was going to see just how out of reach the Brave Gate is. Over Generation were far from finished and neither was Gong Kids. He was looking forward to coming back here and seeing the happy kids raise their hands up high.

Doi accidentally hit Shimizu with the Bakatare Sliding Kick, setting up the win by YAMATO.
YAMATO didn’t win King of Gate, but that isn’t the end of Tribe Vanguard. The younger generation has been making big waves lately. He wasn’t just going to stand back and watch. Along with Hulk, he challenged Big Ben to a Twin Gate title match. Shimizu was more than happy to accept. He’s not sure why he lost today. Maybe he got hit by some guy by accident. YAMATO told him he knew exactly who that guy was. YAMATO told him he should watch his mouth or he may get himself into more trouble than he is looking for. The Twin Gate match was made official for World on 7/22. With that out of the way, Shimizu had some questions for Doi. What’s up?? Maybe he should like, apologize or something?? Doi apologized for the mistake today but told him that he should get his priorities in order. Shimizu: “Huh?”. He pressed further for an apology. Doi told him to watch the way he talks. “Huh?” Doi was flabbergasted. He’s an 18 year veteran, he doesn’t need to apologize to someone who has only been around 5 years. As a veteran he was reading the situation. For the sake of the fans in attendance and those watching live on the Dragon Gate Network, he was going to say sorry. Shimizu told him to be more careful in the future. Doi was reaching his limit. Why was he being so difficult and rude? He’s getting carried away with all this. Shimizu made a dismissive sound but said he didn’t realize it when called out on it. This was too far for Ben who told him to apologize to Doi for it. Since Ben told him to, he apologized for his involuntary actions. Sorry~! Doi just wanted out of the ring now so he wished him luck at World and said they could continue this in the dressing room if needed. YAMATO once again warned Shimizu that his mouth may get him into trouble if he isn’t more careful. Tribe Vanguard was finally able to receive their winners prize after a long time.

The contract signing for the main event was held at the start of the show. Yoshino, as everyone here knew, won King of Gate 2018 yesterday. He had one more step to take. He was going to take the title from Mochizuki today. The 48 year old could then take a much needed rest, knowing the title was in good hands.
Mochizuki said it was a bit early to be saying things like that. He’s had three months to rest up while Yoshino has had nothing but tough matches. He has every advantage today, but he knows not to take Yoshino lightly.

Antias interrupted Gong Kids. A wrestling ring was no place for little kids. They gained the man advantage in the unit disbands match. That pretty much guarantees Over Generation was finished. As for Dragon Kid, the so-called Brave Gate champion. What kind of champion loses so easily? Talk about devaluing the championship. He was going to end this farce of a reign alongside Over Generation. DK said that he was letting this one win get to his head. He wasn’t going to get his hands on the title so easily. This title was a singles title. He had to do it on his own, without his friends. It also takes bravery. If Eita had the courage to come for it, he was welcome to try. He would defend both Over Generation and the Brave Gate. GM Yagi set the match for July 22nd, in Kobe World Hall.

Shimizu celebrated. He called out Doi for talking down to him yesterday. He defended the title today as he said he would. Doi congratulated him on the win. It was a great match. But …Ben was the one who got the pin. Shimizu said that as a veteran, Doi should know that if one member of the team gets the pin it means the team won. They continued this back and forth until Ben-K moderated. There were cameras from local Hakata TV here so they shouldn’t waste their time with this. They can continue in the dressing room. Doi agreed with Ben and asked the fans to cheer for Yoshino in the main event.

King of Gate one day, the Dream Gate the next. Winning would be unprecedented, but Masato Yoshino did it. Mochizuki is an incredible opponent. He doesn’t think he will be able to do what Mochizuki does when he turns 48. Was he even human? He has nothing but the utmost respect for him. Mochizuki said that he was probably a little more active than the average 48 years old, but Yoshino was the one who achieved an inhuman feat. He gets called an Iron Man. Maybe Yoshino should get that title now, too. No one thought he would beat Yoshino back in 2011 and they sure didn’t expect him to beat YAMATO last year. He will be 50 soon and there are probably a lot of people that think him becoming Dream Gate champion again would be bad for Dragon Gate. They are probably right but he doesn’t care. He will never stop coming for the title, even if he is 50 or 60 or any age. As long as he is alive he will be aiming for the top. He congratulated Yoshino on his 4th reign. The title was in good hands.
Yoshino was astonished at his plan to have matches like this when he is 60. Old people are crazy. Go hang out with Don Fujii and take it easy.
The last year and a half have been the longest of his life, but today he stands as champion. For the new fans and the old, he owed this all to them. Winning was just the beginning, he planned on defending it…..Shingo Takagi interrupted.
He can’t believe Yoshino pulled it off. He figured Mochizuki would win here. That poor old man. He got to kick back and rest during King of Gate and he loses to a fluke pin. Actually, YAMATO did too. In fact, Yoshino won all his matches that way. Except for one. When he faced Shingo Takagi he was beaten decisively in the middle of the ring. A champion that can only win via fluke? Once again it was up to Shingo Takagi to save this company from an impending crisis. He didn’t accept Yoshino as champion. Yoshino had two choices. Fight Takagi or hand him the title.
Yoshino wondered why Takagi knew the results of his matches so well. As always, Takagi was mostly full of it but he did get one thing right. He beat Yoshino during KOG. He wasn’t going to run from that. He accepted the challenge. GM Yagi set the match for July 22nd, in Kobe World Hall.
Takagi was pleased at the way things went down. Yoshino should get all his fancy fluke pins ready. It won’t matter. It was unacceptable to have a champion that was fresh off being told to retire by his doctor. He has until World to enjoy this little bit of glory. Then he will be finished off for good. This is what the fans wanted. They were waiting for Shingo Takagi to steer the ship. The huge Takagi chant that he heard was all the proof he needed. (The chant was entirely from Antias at ringside). Yoshino said maybe 1% of the 1500 fans here today were looking forward to it. Singles matches can be lonely, but he had the fans with him. Takagi was right. He had been told to retire by his doctor. The Dream Gate was proof that he was back, 100%.

Antias ran in to cause the no contest in match 3. Over Generation came to make the save. Eita wondered why they were here. This was an Antias/MaxiMuM brawl. This was none of their business! DK said that until their unit disbands match on July 5th, everything Antias does is their business. It was pretty clear what Antias was up to here. They knew Mr. Last Place Yasushi Kanda was going to lose again so they got the match thrown out. Eita told DK that his first match back from his foot injury would be his last.

Saito asked for permission to speak. Next month, on July 5th at Korakuen Hall on 1-3-61 Rakuen, Bunkyo-ku in Tokyo his team would challenge Mr. Horiguchi, Mr. Susumu, & Mr. Sawada for their Triangular Door Waist Straps. Mr. Sawada shouldn’t expect the same result as today. The momentum was still with them. Kzy brought up that Saito did a plancha onto Susumu, who wasn’t even in the match. Saito said that they were at war so it was a sneak attack on a member of the champion team! Saito said that based on the results today, it was clear that the momentum was on their side. Kzy pointed out that if the result was the same as today it would be a Natural Vibes win. Saito continued to insist they had the momentum and when they return to Hakata in August they would be champions.

Maria told Shimizu that he wasn’t her type at all. Contrary to her usual intentions, she was going to take the titles without taking his lips as well. Shimizu was upset at this rejection and wondered why he wasn’t her type. What was wrong with him? There’s not much difference between him and someone like Doi. Doi was irritated at him joking around yet again. He barely got out of the last place tournament and now here he was getting beat on the eve a title match. Shimizu wasn’t phased. In a long career you will have times like this. Doi was flabbergasted. He has only been wrestling for like 5 years! Maybe after 10 he can say something like that. Shimizu gave a half hearted apology and asked Doi to second Big Ben tomorrow. Doi once again turned to Ben=K to talk some reason into him. Ben told Shimizu he was being rude to Doi and he should apologize. Shimizu said Ben made him realize the error of his ways and he was very sorry. He would be more careful in the future.

DK told Eita that he was done taking Over Generation lightly. This was just the first of many wins DK was planning on as payback for Eita knocking him out of KOG. The countdown to the end of Antias has started. There is no card for tomorrow, so it seems like a good place for a bigger fight. Problem Dragon and Mr. Last Place Yasushi Kanda can join in and make it 4 on 4. Eita swore that he kicked out at 2. Whatever. Kanda would be happy to join in. But were they really OK with Problem Dragon on their side? He abruptly attacked and removed his mask. Look at this loser. With him it was still 4 on 3. Gamma said in normal circumstances he would agree but when you do things like attack his mask, he changes. An angry Problem Dragon was as strong as anyone.
GM Yagi made the match, but added some stipulations. The unit disbands match was also going to be 4 vs. 4 so he was upping the stakes. He was adding Naniwa Elimination rules to that match. The winner of the match tomorrow would earn the man advantage during the entry period on July 5th.
Takagi pointed out that DK was clearly still favoring his leg. He was still injured and everyone knows it. Antias weren’t going to wait for the elimination match. They were going to put an end to Over Generation tomorrow.

Yoshino had nothing but praise for YAMATO. His ability and popularity was second to none. He was going to be a centerpiece of the new Dragon Gate. But! Yoshino has been here for 18 years and he had no plans on leaving. He was looking forward to their next 1 on 1 match. Now it was time for the culmination of this one month long war. Masaaki Mochizuki, the time has come. Mochizuki congratulated him on his win. He watched KOG from the sidelines. He’s waited 3 months between title defenses. Yoshino has talked a lot about his 18 year career and whatnot. Mochizuki has 25 years and Yoshino will see what that means tomorrow. Yoshino looks tired and beat up, but he knows what he is capable of and won’t be taking him lightly.

Yoshino had no intention of losing his place whether his opponent is someone more experienced like Mochizuki, or someone younger like YAMATO. It was hard, but he was the one still standing here today. But just standing was difficult. Mochizuki will be fresh tomorrow so he will be the favorite, but Yoshino will give whatever is left in his body to win. Yoshino started to have doubts so he asked if the title match could be postponed until the next Hakata show in August. Doi told him that everyone had their tickets for tomorrow and were looking forward to it. He led a Yoshino chant to try and cheer him up.
Yoshino was properly motivated now. He thanked the fans for their support today. He talked about breaking his back and suffering a hernia in his neck last year. His doctor told him he would have to miss at least a year and should consider retirement. The cheers of the fan helped bring him back home. He hadn’t competed in a singles match in nearly 2 years. He longed to be back in King of Gate. He’s been fighting in this ring since Toryumon and he was going to keep fighting here in Dragon Gate. Maybe it was still a day too early to be giving this speech. He had a tough opponent tomorrow. He promised to win and end the show tomorrow as champion.

Drawings were held at the top of the show to decide the semifinal pairings.
Yoshida reminded everyone what he said on the opening night. This was his tournament. He was going to smash Yoshino today and become champion in Hakata.
Yoshino told Yoshida he was out of place. He would show what he has learned in his 18 year career and once again become Dream Gate champion.
Doi lost in the semifinals last year, so he has no other option besides winning the whole thing.
YAMATO didn’t care who his opponent was. The results would be the same. This is his ring.

Yoshioka has seen his peers find success. Ben-K has become a champion, Shun made a big impression in KOG. It sucks. He and Hyo vowed to not be left behind.

Kagetora & Maria approached Shimizu backstage. Kage wanted to bring the Twin Gate to Tribe Vanguard. Shimizu, seeking revenge for today, accepted the challenge.

Rookie(?) Ryo Saito celebrated the biggest win of his brief(??) career. He asked Mr. Horiguchi, Mr. Susumu, and Mr. Sawada for an opportunity at their Triangular Door Waist Straps. He got a big win today after his successful King of Gate he thought he earned it. Kzy confirmed that he actually meant the Triangle Gate. He did get the win over Susumu today…but what was that about KOG? How many points did he accumulate? Saito confirmed the total was 0. Fujii & K-ness. didn’t even participate! Saito wouldn’t take no for an answer. Eventually, Kzy relented and GM Yagi pounced on the opportunity to make the title match for the July Korakuen.

Ishida told Eita that the beef with Over Generation ended here. For all his talk about OG needing to disband, Antias were the losers today so they be the ones that disband. Eita told Ishida he was getting carried away with this fluke win. They should settle this once and for all with a unit disbands match. Refusing wasn’t an option. Takagi was pleased with Eita finally taking it here. With Yoshida added it would be 4 vs. 3 and an easy win. Gamma refused that stipulation. Hell, with Problem Dragon involved it would basically be 2 on 4. Takagi told him he had 2 options. Accept the 4 on 3 stipulation or disband right now. This brought out Dragon Kid who announced that he would fight to save OG whether his foot was healed or not. Eita quickly kicked him in the foot. Being eliminated from KOG and being forced into the last place tournament was all DK’s fault. He was going to see to it that he ended this feud broken and retired. The unit disbands match was set for July 5th. Ishida promised to protect his unit and it was just the beginning for him.

YAMATO told Yoshino that after Ben-K in Sendai and Doi today, he would be the next member of MaxiMuM to go down. His luck had run out. YAMATO said at the start of KOG and again today that this was his ring. It’s great that he feels that strongly, but Yoshino was around long before him. 18 years. In Hakata he would see what an 18 year veteran is made of. Masaaki Mochizuki, who has somehow been around even longer, would fall next and Masato Yoshino would return to Korakuen Hall on July 5th as Dream Gate champion.
Shimizu awkwardly interjected to berate Doi. He gave Shimizu a tongue lashing in Sapporo after he lost but here he was losing in a Korakuen Hall main event. What’s up with that? Doi told him that his last place finish was a bit different from losing in the semifinals but Shimizu disagreed. If you don’t win the whole thing then you lost. 2nd place and last place are the same thing. Doi was at a loss so he asked Ben-K to try and talk some sense into him. Ben told him he was being rude and to apologize, so he did. Doi was even more puzzled at him listening to Ben but not him. He wanted the ordeal over so he accepted his apology and wished him luck in the last place tournament.

YAMATO closed the show out. He knows what type of opponent Yoshino is. Everyone does. Tokyo is pretty far from Hakata so anyone that can’t make it can watch on the Dragon Gate Network. It was his mission to win KOG and go on to win the Dream Gate to prove this was his ring. The fans should just be quiet and enjoy the ride.

Eita led an Antias attack after the second match. No one was interested in these lame matches. Especially if they have Gamma in them. Dragon Kid was injured. Problem Dragon & Ishida weren’t even worthy of the trip to Sapporo. What was even the point of Over Generation? They should disband, right now. Gamma thought the fans really enjoyed the match. Was Eita even capable of having enjoyable matches anymore? From the looks of things, Antias is in much worse shape so they are the ones that should disband.
Saito apologized for getting involved, then got involved. He’s just a rookie so he doesn’t really know much but from his perspective, it is Antias that are wrong here. They interfere in matches that they have nothing to do with. They cheat and use underhanded tactics. They should disband. Eita told the rookie to know his place and rank. This was all Dragon Kid’s fault! Another brawl broke out that took everyone backstage.

Doi scolded Shimizu for losing again. Yesterday, today. He was out of King of Gate now. What was his problem? Was he even trying? Shimizu apologized but it didn’t seem too sincere.

Antias and Natural Vibes both got involved in the main event. In the end, it was a box shot from Kzy that set up Susumu for the win.
Susumu celebrated, calling it an incredibly difficult win. It took an assist from his team, but you have to fight fire with fire. He had one match left, with Kagetora in Sendai. He was going to show what his new unit was made of by winning and advancing on in KOG.

Takagi said this was a conspiracy against him. The new CEO didn’t want him headlining. He’s heard him say it before. He knows he heard the Takagi Doctrine. CIMA is gone. T-Hawk is gone. Okamura is gone. Shingo Takagi is the only one left that can do it. They set him up for failure in D block. It was all about holding him back and messing with him. Natural Vibes was a third rate gang of cheaters. Whatever. He knows that the fans want to see him on top. Not Hulk. Not YAMATO. Not Doi or Yoshino. Shingo Takagi. He heard the chants today. Any chants you heard for Susumu were from plants. The real fans believe in the Takagi Doctrine.

Takagi swore up and down that he was back in the ring at 19. What the hell was Saito up to? He clearly wasn’t out to win this match or King of Gate. He was just out here to mess with him. Saito was surprised that Takagi was unable to defeat a lowly rookie like himself. If Takagi won today, he would have advanced out of D block. He was able to prevent that from happening so he accomplished his goal. This just infuriated Takagi further. This hurt the legion of Shingo Takagi fans that wanted to see him win KOG. What was up with him? After Takagi took his hair in Aichi he suddenly thinks he is a rookie. A 40 year old 20 year veteran rookie? That’s fucking stupid. Whatever. He didn’t win today but he will beat Susumu tomorrow and still advance on. By any means necessary. Saito will get payback 10 fold when the time comes.
Saito wondered about that Legion of Shingo Takagi fans. Based on what he heard from the Sapporo crowd today, there weren’t many in that legion. He accomplished his goal of making sure he ended up with 0 points today. He has faith that Susumu will beat him tomorrow and put an end to Shingo Takagi in KOG.
Backstage, Takagi complained further. Saito wasn’t even trying to win. Why was the company allowing this? Why did they continue to put him in these positions. He has Susumu tomorrow. In this new Dragon Gate only the strong will survive. He will do what he always does and that will be enough to handle the likes of Susumu.

Hulk closed the show. He owed the win today to his Tribe Vanguard family. Not just them, but his hometown fans. His King of Gate situation wasn’t looking too good, but there is still a chance. As long as there is a chance he will never give up.

Doi opened the show

Dragon Kid made an appearance to explain his ankle injury and apologize for having to pull out of his matches this weekend. Eita attacked him. It was all his fault that Eita was eliminated from KOG. He was going to force him to wrestle and would stand in his corner to make sure he give some his all. Gamma hit him with the cane to back him off. He reminded him that DK being unable to compete was his own damn fault. Eita wasn’t having any of it and attacked again until Maria made the save to start their match.
Maria attacked the referee and stripped Maria of her top to cause the DQ. He warned DK that Over Generation were finished, even if he had to do it himself. Backstage, he promised that this would end with DK’s retirement.

Kzy put over Shun after the main event for his recent activity. They had done some long trips together to do PR work here in Sapporo. They became friends. He didn’t expect they would back in Sapporo fighting each other in a high stakes match like they will be tomorrow. He can’t wait for the match. He won’t be so nice tomorrow.

8. A Block League Match: Kzy△ (20:00 Time Limit Draw) Ben-K△

Eita confronted Dragon Kid after match 3. He knows he is hurt. His foot is in bad shape, isn’t it? Later tonight he will finish the job and put him out for good. DK told them that one foot is enough to handle Eita. He will beat him and put an end to their feud.

Backstage, Yoshino admitted that he was taken to the very brink. This match felt like a bottom of the 9th, 2 out miracle comeback win. He’s got two matches left with two tough opponents in Saito & Kagetora. As he said before the league started, as a key man in the new Dragon Gate system he has to play key role inside the ring as well. He sees no other option than to fight and fight, even if his body has given out.

Eita used chairs and his bat on DK’s injured foot before locking in the Indian deathlock. He added repeated stomps until DK had no choice but to give up. Was this your Brave Gate champion? Does your foot hurt? The title is worthless if it’s on someone who can’t move. He should forfeit the title. With the midget unable to walk, that leaves Over Generation with just 3 dumbasses. What kind of unit are they? He’s said it repeatedly and he will say it again here. Disband. Now. Ishida made the save. Eita won the match, DK was clearly injured. That’s enough. He wants to keep fighting he can fight with him. Antias only has four members and no one cares about them so they should be the group to disband. Eita was amused by his courage, but warned him to treasure the time he has left with Over Generation because there wasn’t much left.

Kzy praised Ben-K for how strong he has become. This is Osaka, the place where he challenged for the Dream Gate and demented himself as a force to be reckoned with. Kzy also feels he has reached that point. This was one of those matches where neither competitor could afford to lose. There just wasn’t enough time today to decide who was better. He won’t let Ben-K surpass him. Ben told him that after he wins KOG, he wants to come back to Osaka and fight Kzy with no time limit to see who really is the future.

Antias attacked Over Generation after the opener. Eita has said it before and will say it again. OG are useless and should disband immediately. When are they going to just give up and do it? He rambled about hating Gong Kids and children in general until Dragon Kid confronted him. He knows nothing about Over Generation. He betrayed them in favor of his own selfish goals. He keeps talking about disbanding. Antias are the useless unit. How many members do they even have in the building today? 3? That’s pretty sorry. Eita told him to shut up. The three of them were enough to take out OG. They brawled again until Ishida hit the ring and took Eita out with a kick. He was tired of Eita talking bad about Over Generation. He would do anything to keep them going. He told DK that if anyone had something to say about Over Generation they would have to answer to him. He was all fired up so he demanded Mochizuki immediately come out for their match.

Mochizuki was impressed. He wasn’t happy about getting kicked in the face so many times, but there are many different ways to have a pro wrestling match and he doesn’t mind this one. He doesn’t know what Ishida wants to do with his career, but he advised him to pick a path and walk it with no hesitation.

Punch celebrated getting 1 point out of the draw. He didn’t win, but he also didn’t lose. A match like this for someone like him, not losing is big. He wasn’t going to give up his hopes of making it out of his block. If Doi loses all of his remaining matches and he can beat DK he has a chance. He isn’t giving up. Eita had no comment.

Kanda gave YAMATO a Ryu’s on a pile of chair and left him for dead, scoring a count out win. Kanda said that if he bothers to get motivated he can beat someone like YAMATO any time he wants. The others in his block are on notice. He’s in to win this year.
YAMATO was embarrassed and annoyed by the tactics Kanda used. In hindsight this probably should have only been the second match on the card. He will pay him back next time they face off. He still has 2 league matches left, so KOG was still within reach. That they are against young generation stars Ben-K & Shun is just an added bonus. He’s looking forward to it. He lost today to some vile veteran tactics. He lost, but he learned something new. He won’t go down so easily next time and is still confident he will make it out of his block.

Yoshida defeated Hulk with surprising ease. Now all he has to do is beat Jason Lee and B Block will belong to him. This is the year of Takashi Yoshida and King of Gate belongs to him.
YAMATO complained that Antias get really carried away on the rare occasions that they manage a win. He knows Hulk is capable of better. What’s wrong?
Hulk said he is tired and beat up. This might be his maximum capability now. It’s not common knowledge but he had another surgery at the beginning of the year. He just never quite got back up to speed afterwards. He was planning on King of Gate being the start of his revival, but he’s out here still all beat up and losing to someone like Yoshida. YAMATO tried to fire him up. KOG was just getting started. Hulk agreed. There was still a lot left. He’s always been pretty beaten up. Dislocated shoulders, broken jaws, torn ligaments. The thing that hasn’t broken is his heart. That will to succeed for the sake of Tribe Vanguard. Even if just one of them has success, it means good things for the unit. Just one of YAMATO, Hulk, Kage, or Maria winning KOG means Tribe Vanguard has succeeded. The BxB Story isn’t ending. Tribe Vanguard isn’t ending. The best is yet to come.

The opening ceremony for King of Gate 2018 was held at the top of the show. YAMATO, with a new short haircut, gave the greeting. Dragon Gate has undergone a reformation behind the scenes. CIMA, T-Hawk, El Lindaman, & Takehiro Yamamura have departed for Shanghai. They will achieve big things there. Those standing here in the Japan ring will not be outdone. The 65 members of roster and staff will put their all into their efforts and he hopes the fans will continue to support them the same way as they in the past.

Yoshida demolished Shimizu in quick fashion, not even needing a Cyber Bomb. He boasted that this was his real power. This win over one half of the Twin Gate champions was just the first step on his way to winning King of Gate.

Kagetora made his first appearance as an official member of Tribe Vanguard. In the time he spent seconding the other units, he found Tribe to be the most appealing. He and the other members are aiming to put them back into their rightful spot as top unit.

Over Generation talked about the events in Aichi. Dragon Kid made his first successful defense of his Brave Gate title. Everybody knows that, probably. What they don’t know is he injured his foot the day before in Toyohashi and he could barely walk on the day of the match. He took a painkiller, taped the foot up, and went out and won a tough match. OG didn’t have anyone in the cage match, but the usual Gamma Oil and the new Ishida Oil made an appearance. Saito took a pie to the face. A few years ago they used a volleyball machine. This year they wanted to use a soccer machine. They had soccer uniforms prepared. Unfortunately, when they arrived they were volleyball uniforms. He demanded an explanation from Ishida, who had placed the order. Ishida noted that the name on the package was Yoshito Sugamoto. He did nothing wrong. Gamma told him that this should be a lesson that even the best of us make mistakes and he should always be careful. He quickly moved to the Gong Kids selection.

Eita & Yoshida interfered to cause the no contest. Eita, with his neck wrapped up from the Muscular Bomb he received earlier, called the match a waste of time. He again insisted that Over Generation had no reason for existing. They should disband immediately. No one wants to see them together anymore. DK told Eita that while he may be proud of his intrusion here, in reality it is pretty pathetic. There is only two of them. Given the current state of things maybe it would be better if Antias is the one to disband. Eita blamed his loss to Doi on DK and attacked. Ishida stopped him with a high kick. He was tired of Eita belittling Over Generation. Eita blew him off. He didn’t even know his name. Everything bad that has happened is because of Dragon Kid, so he is going to make him pay for it. They brawled to the backstage area.

Takagi boasted that his win was free of any illegal tactics. Fair and square. Yet people still boo him. What more can he do? Whatever. In Aichi he protected his hair and freed himself of that bullshit comedy title belt. No one finds him entertaining anyway. How did he end up with it in the first place? What was YAMATO talking about earlier? Okamura resigned and CIMA is the new president? There’s a new company called Dragon Gate Entertainment? He doesn’t give a shit about any of it. He’s a wrestler. He is going to come and do his thing like he always has. The others should, too. As for T-Hawk & Linda, they got to spend valuable time outside of the ring with him so it is clear they learned something. If you want to do something, you do it. Choose your own path and walk down it. They clearly have done that by going to Shanghai so he has nothing again them. As for Antias, there is no more Young Antias or Adult Antias or anything like that. He is taking back control and he will be the only one that makes the decisions. He is going to say what the fans have been waiting to hear. They will boo anyway, even though he is saying nothing wrong. He was busy in Big Japan and All Japan last month, but he is going to once again put Dragon Gate on his back and be the focal point. There’s no upper or lower ranks in Antias anymore. Everyone is free to act as they please. With his leadership they will destroy everything. He is against the system. He’s tired of the way things are. The company, the fans, the wrestlers. It has become clear to him that he will have to change things himself. First things first, the final four in King of Gate will be himself, Eita, Yoshida, & Kanda. This doesn’t mean he isn’t going to wrestle in other places from time to time, but he is back to being the center of DG.

YAMATO may have cut off all his hair, but he was still the coolest. He was also the winner. Today, he felt the heart and drive that prompted Kzy to leave Tribe Vanguard. He is now leading his own unit and they are Triangle Gate champions. He’s made a noticeable impact. The dance is pretty cool too. He’d be too shy to even try it. Kzy surely sees the significance of their match today. They’ve battled many times before, but today was different. Naruki Doi. Masato Yoshino. BxB Hulk. …………Shingo Takagi. They have fought for years knowing that at any point they can be burdened with the task of carrying Dragon Gate on their back. Every time they get in the ring, they are prepared for that to happen. There is more to being king than just the crown. 13 years ago, they joined Dragon Gate together. They are peers, in that sense. Who would have expected these two idiots from towns in the middle of nowhere would be fighting each other in the main event 13 years later. He prompted “Kazuki Sawada” for a handshake, but Kzy slapped his hand away. YAMATO wasn’t offended. It is what he expected. He knows that Kzy has what it takes to get back and fight YAMATO again on an even bigger scale. He will be waiting for him.

As for today. This was day 1 of the new Dragon Gate. Losing was not an option for him. Not today. He had to be the one to stand here and see the fans off. CIMA, T-Hawk, Lindaman, & Yamamura have left for Shanghai. He is the only one that can stand here now, in this ring. He will stand here, in Dragon Gate, because this is his home. The fans can follow him. The next step for him is to win King of Gate to become the #1 both in name and in reality. He’ll be in the semi-finals here next month so everyone should come and see him. Thank you for coming today, he will be waiting to see them again next month. Farewell!

⑥Takagi (4:59 Last Falconry) Saito

Yoshida heaped some praise on Kagetora. What an exciting match they had. It helped him better understand him. He knows that he wants to join Antias. He took the barely conscious Kagetora backstage. He appeared with them during the Antias interval during the cage match and helped Lindaman escape. However, in the final stages he ripped off the Antias shirt to reveal a Tribe Vanguard shirt. He joined forces with them to assist YAMATO in his escape.

It came down to Takagi vs. Saito, and Takagi won with 1 second remaining.

Takagi took over the ring. Mochizuki, Punch, & YAMATO don’t deserve to participate in the haircut. Antias would take all of his hair for themselves. He demanded Saito sit and take his haircut like the loser he is. He destroyed the Owarai Gate title. This is the new reality. A perfect ending to the Golden Week holiday. At the beginning of the year, he ceded control of Antias to the young trio. Lindaman ran from the cage like a coward, while Eita & T-Hawk lost to a pig and gorilla. Takagi was taking that control back from them right here and now. If they don’t like it, there is the door. The only way to the top is his way so that is how things are going to be. Deal with it. As for Nagoya, their food sucks and their women are ugly so he was getting out of this miserable town. They should all go home too.

Fujii & K-ness. assisted Saito. He apologized. He wasn’t going to make excuses. He lost. He is the one that picked the fight with Takagi and he knew what he was getting into. He wasn’t going to let the fans end their Golden Week on a sour note so he wanted to lighten the mood up before they went home. He noticed the destroyed Owarai Gate. It’s ok. It only cost ¥3000. He was thankful for the help from K-ness., Fujii, and the other unaffiliated wrestlers that helped him out today. It reminded him of how much of an asset units can be. He’s been on his own since the Jimmyz ended. He’s team up with a few others here and there but he hasn’t really formed any bonds with anyone. Kzy has started Natural Vibes. They look like they have worked hard on their dance routine and there is no spot in the formation for him. He’s been loosely aligned with YAMATO for the sake of this match, but Kagetora swooped in and took the spot in Tribe Vanguard from under him. DoiYoshiJason have been a big hit for MaxiMuM. Maybe he can join and make BigBenRyo….nah. As for Over Generation. He just can’t get along with Dragon Kid. Antias isn’t even an option, of course. He called K-ness. & Fujii to the center. They tried out a pose and he liked how it felt. He asked them if they were up for making a team that ensures that fun and lighthearted wrestling remains a fixture in Dragon Gate. He lost his hair today, but King of Gate starts in two days and he isn’t out of chances. He asked the fans to have a safe trip home, a nice end to their GW vacation, and to come back and see DG again soon.

YAMATO made a final appeal for reaffirmation for support tomorrow from “brother unit” MaxiMuM. Doi was still baffled by the whole thing, but promised MaxiMuM would be looking out for him tomorrow. Tribe Vanguard joined in on the 1st Finger pose.

Takagi took the hair clippers to Punch and took off another chunk of his hair. Antias were back on the same page today and as a united group they were unstoppable. Punch already looks like he lost a bet with his hair in its current state. He may as well retire before he gets humiliated further tomorrow. Lindaman said they have all come to an understanding now. The Antias team shook hands and left together.
Punch was annoyed with Mochizuki & Saito for not helping enough. Mochizuki put the blame squarely on him and wondered why he was trying to make more enemies on the eve of the cage match. In the end, they agreed to stay on the same side to combat Antias and work towards the goal of leaving Takagi bald. Mochizuki noted that it would better to make sure both Takagi & Lindaman were left, then force them into a draw…

A lottery was held at the top of the show to determine the teams for the main event.

Shun told Maria that she was focusing on DK and overlooked him. He earned his spot in King of Gate and this was proof. He was going to Skywalk his way through the tournament and asked the Kyoto fans to expect big things. Maria never even entertained the idea of losing to Shun. It was a wake up call and will only make her fight harder in Aichi on Sunday. She was hoping the next time she shares the ring with Shun it is in the King of Gate finals.

There were various accidents in the KoG preview tag. Yoshida proclaimed that he was on a roll and when he gets moving he runs down anything in his path. Hulk yelled at him. Today was a tag match. Why was he intentionally attacking his partner? We all know he isn’t a smart man but surely he understands how a tag match works.
Kzy accidentally hit Ben-K with an uppercut that caused him to lose. Ben promised to pay him back 300 fold in their league match. Kzy admitted he was a formidable opponent, but he had his mind on someone else. His first opponent in league play; YAMATO. They haven’t had many singles matches in the past. He’s excited but he is also dead serious. He is going to beat YAMATO in the middle of the ring. Everyone in his block. Ben-K too. He has no other option but to win King of Gate and get another shot at Masaaki Mochizuki. There was a change of scenery coming and he was the one bringing it.

CIMA gave a quick speech. He hasn’t been inside a Dragon Gate ring since the end of March. What has this old man been up to? Since last fall, he has been teaching pro wrestling to a group of young men in Shanghai. In China, there is no such thing as pro wrestling. When he first started this task he had to spend a good amount of time just drilling that a 3 count ended the match. They would wait until just before a 4 count to kick out, then when corrected on that they began kicking out at 0. Today he was bringing two of those students. 19 years old, 9 months since learning that pro wrestling existed, their first match in Japan and their second overall.

Like in the previous tag, there were accidents aplenty in the semifinal. Eita spit water at DK and gave him a Superkick, allowing a reluctant Susumu to pick up the win.
Eita was in a foul mood. Why was he stuck teaming with Doi? Bullshit. Even worse was that midget Dragon Kid. He turned his back on Over Generation because hated him so much. Where exactly was Over Generation? Problem Dragon isn’t here. Gamma isn’t here. Ishida? Yamamura? CIMA? What was the point? They should disband right here and now. DK responded by asking him where his Twin Gate title teammate T-Hawk has been. Why isn’t he out here? Why is Eita carrying both title belts? They will be facing each other in King of Gate. He doesn’t know what hasn’t happened to Eita to put his head where it’s at now, but he should be ready for a fight. As for today, it was obvious he is an unprofessional as ever. This was a tag match. The fans came to see it. They tuned into the Dragon Gate Network to see it. They didn’t want to see Eita get bored and throw a tantrum. He should put aside his personal feelings and finish the match for them. He was doing a whole lot of talking lately. You can’t defend your titles with just words, especially against the likes of Big Ben. Eita better get his act together or else those titles he is carrying will be gone in an instant. He will see him in Osaka for their King of Gate match where they can settle their differences once and for all.
Doi was gleefull at their quarrel. He lives for this sort of thing. He’s in the same block as them and this will only make it easier for him. He was planning on going undefeated. He will be the face of Block C, the standard bearer of Block C, and the winner of Block C.
Yoshino was impressed with his friend being so cool and he was pulling for him to succeed. He was planning on doing the same thing in his own block and going on to win the whole thing.
Susumu warned him to not take the new Natural Vibes Susumu lightly. First, his new team were going to take the Triangle Gate from MaxiMuM on Sunday. Then he was going to repeat 2014 and once again be the King of Gate.
Kagetora felt overlooked, but that’s fine. He likes being the dark horse. Over the last month he has experimented by wearing different unit merchandise and seconding them for matches. He’s finally come to a decision on where he belongs. He will announce it on Sunday in Aichi.

Takagi brought the barbed wire bat back and left Punch with a bloodied chest.
Kanda didn’t give a damn about losing today. All he cares about is getting the hell out of the cage on Sunday.
Mochizuki had some words of warning for Punch. He told Lindaman that he didn’t do much today. If he performs like this on Sunday he was going to end up bald.
YAMATO reminded Takagi that this was a hair match, not a death match. His weapons had no place in the cage. However, his hair clippers did! Takagi is the only one to not feel them against his head. YAMATO has decided that Takagi is the one that ends up shaved on Sunday. He will have help inside from Saito and on the outside from Tribe Vanguard and their brother unit MaxiMuM. Gahahahaha!! 5/6 will be a day to remember. Hopefully they all won’t have trouble sleeping until then. Gahahahahaa!!
If YAMATO was going to bring those dangerous hair clippers, Takagi has no choice but to defend himself and bring his bat with him. Does he understand the meaning of Dead or Alive? You either live, or you die. It is a death match. As for everyone that wants to see him lose his hair…Too bad. It’s not happening.
Lindaman wasn’t sure if that lariat from Takagi was on purpose. Was it a betrayal or merely an accident? We won’t have to wait much longer to find out. Mochizuki was right about him not doing much today. There is a lot to be said for saving your strength so you peak at the right time. For example, when the siren sounds and it’s time to leave the cage.
Saito insisted that the lariat was on purpose. No question about it. He should pay him back by helping in the effort to leave him bald. He wasn’t going to offer him any handshakes but they should consider having the same goal. You never know what is going to happen in the cage. To protect himself he has formed a tight bond with YAMATO. He had formed a shaky bond with Mochizuki. He praised Punch for doing his best even though he was in over his head. He hoped Punch would consider helping him out in a pinch. They should be allies in this, too.
Punch placed his trust in Saito. With help from him and from Natural Vibes he would get payback at those that treated him like a joke. He was going to protect his hair and then make a splash in King of Gate.

Kid told Maria to give up on the Brave Gate title. He has gotten used to being kissed and has possibly even started to like it. Maria promised to leave him both breathless and title-less.

Eita had only one thing to say to Big Ben. They can’t win and they won’t win in the Twin Gate title match. All they can do is hope they don’t get beaten up too badly.

The new Kzy lead unit announced their name is “Natural Vibes”. They came out to a theme called Party Anthem featuring verses from Kzy & YASSHI and danced to it. Doi wasn’t impressed with them. It looks like their little dance is the only thing they have been practicing. They would need more than that it the upcoming Triangle Gate title match.

Takagi gave YAMATO a Pumping Bomber and threw Lindaman on top to let him get the win. The cage match entrants all had a confrontation afterwards. Saito was confident that he and YAMATO would be able to work together. Kanda wasn’t concerned with anything or anyone. He was going to escape as soon as possible and let the rest of the animals fight. Takagi mocked Punch for his dance moves earlier.
