The 3/20 PPV from Sumo Hall in Tokyo has been canceled, due to the uncertainty facing the area after the earthquake disaster.

The roster and staff had hoped that conditions in the area would be improved by the time the show was scheduled to go on. There were also plans to donate the full gate from the event to disaster relief charity.

In the end though, the continuing aftershocks and power outage issues caused concerns over spectator safety at such a large indoor event. The situation with the Fukushima nuclear reactors is also a point of worry, as there is potential for radioactive material reaching the Kanto area.

There will be a pair of charity shows from Dragon Gate Arena on 4/3. All proceeds, as well as wrestler & staff salary will go to relief for the victims of the Tohoku earthquake. The first show will be at 14:00, the second at 18:00 JST. Both will have 4 matches, and the standard NEX exhibition match. There will also be photo and talk events at both.

The May 17th & 18th shows in Zepp Sendai & Yamagata Big Wing have been cancelled. Both are in areas heavily damaged by the disaster.

To replace Sumo Hall, a series of Tokyo area charity events were announced. Starting in Shinjuku FACE, on 4/12. All proceeds from the show will go towards earthquake relief.

The show will kick off a series of three Kantou region shows that will collectively be called the “CHAMPION GATE” series. The title matches from Sumo Hall, as well as title defenses for the Dragon Gate USA titles will be held during this series.

6. Open the Dream Gate #1 Contender Match: Masaaki Mochizuki (19:15 Reverse Twister) Gamma

The start of the show was briefly delayed due to some trouble with the ring ropes.

CIMA opened the show with a promo, mainly mocking RONIN for being terrible and not worthy of their trip to Japan.

Despite the loss, BW blew off RONIN and called out KAMIKAZE after the opener. Horiguchi added the stipulation that if KAMIKAZE loses, all three of them will be demoted to NEX after Sumo Hall. YAMATO agreed to it.

Doi suddenly attacked AraKen after the three way tag, stomping him down then dragged him backstage. AraKen was back at intermission to check the ring though…

Ricochet went after PAC again after their match. Looks like their feud will rage on. This match got heavy praise.

BW controlled the early portion of the elimination match. Eventually they got the KAMIKAZE side down to just YAMATO. YAMATO managed to get Horiguchi over the top rope, and the match paused while KAMIKAZE chose who would revive into the match. Horiguchi got tired of waiting, and demanded to know who it would be. YAMATO said it wasn’t Cyber or KAGE, but Shingo Takagi! He made his return to active duty, helping KAMIKAZE cruise to victory.

Afterwards, he said this was the beginning of the KAMIKAZE counterattack on BW. YAMATO then laid out a challenge for the Twin Gate (teaming with Takagi). Horiguchi accepted, and the match was made for Sumo Hall.

Takahi continued, saying that he wasn’t the only part of the counterattack. He called out another returning member, Taku Iwasa! He announced that he will resume his career after almost 18 months at Sumo Hall!

Mochizuki & Yoshino had their first confrontation after the main. Mochizuki further cemented his challenge by producing a Yoshino Lottery ball. He said it was found on the floor with the one Fujii had. Yoshino was not pleased, and whipped the ball into the stands.
