All the participants in the Brave Gate tournament had a chance to address the fans at the top of the show.
Kagetora wants this belt more than anything, and he promised to come out of the tournament as champion.
Draztick Boy said he would do his best.
Yamamura admitted that there probably weren’t that many fans who thought he had a chance. But he was going to show everyone what he was made of. He is fighting Kzy in the first round. Kzy has been on fire all year, but Yamamura has been even hotter. Only one of them would keep their momentum going, and it would be him.
Kzy told Yamamura that while he was on a roll, he couldn’t surpass Kzy just yet. He promised to win and make the Brave Gate scene interesting again.
Tominaga was irritated at having to fight a ladyboy.
Maria wanted to return to her form from last year, and regain the Brave Gate.
Lindaman said everyone was talking about their momentum and enthusiasm. The reality is, that means nothing in a tournament like this. You lose and you are out. He was going to win and bring value back to the Brave Gate.
The Brave Gate belt belongs to Eita. He wasn’t going to let someone like Lindaman walk off with it. He is going to break his arm, leave him laying, and get back what is his.
Dragon Fly is a wrestler from Mexico that is in Japan for a tryout. Due to his arrival, the opener was changed to a 6 man tag team match.
YAMATO celebrated his win. As most in attendance know by now, he defeated Cyber Kong in Osaka to retain his Dream Gate title. He beat Shingo Takagi to win last July at Kobe World. He has also beaten Akira Tozawa, Naruki Doi, & BxB Hulk for a total of 4 defenses. There is a lot of pressure and expectations on the Dream Gate champion. He has accepted them and fought off all his challengers. But what about his challengers? Do they just accept their loss and move on?
Naturally, Takagi was irritated. Sure, he lost at World. He could take the title back any time he wanted.
Hulk wasn’t ready to give up after just one loss.
Kong said he removed his mask and showed who he really was to everyone to prove how ready he was to be champion. He lost on a fluke at the end, and he wanted another shot.
Doi figured since Takagi & Hulk had their own issues to settle, and since Kong was just beaten (and injured in the process) that he should jump the front of the line.
YAMATO revealed his intentions. Right here in Nagoya on May 5th, will be Dead or Alive. Heaven or hell. He was going to risk his Dream Gate title in the annual cage match. Assuming the others were willing to risk something.
Takagi was intrigued, but warned YAMATO that he was the one with the most to lose. Sure. He would do it, and take YAMATOs’ belt and his pride.
Kong wouldn’t make the same mistakes he made in Osaka. He was still unstoppable. He accepted the offer.
Doi accepted. He reminded YAMATO that there were no allies inside the cage. Just enemies that would be coming for his Dream Gate title.
Hulk said that even though they were Tribe Vanguard stablemates, the title is a totally separate matter. He was going to take the title (and beat up that asshole Shingo Takagi in the process).
YAMATO closed the show. The match was set. He would risk his title belt, because that is what pro wrestling and Dragon Gate were about. He vowed to escape the cage as champion.
